Never mind the actual security of human lives on the ground\u2014just hold an election, and everything is fine.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">But on here, we do not deal in vibes. We deal in verified facts. To understand why the African Union is suddenly changing its tune, we have to look past the diplomatic smiles and follow the money, the timeline, and the deep historical scars that define this struggle.<\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"5\">The Sudden Landing in Bamako: A Timeline of the Visit<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">For over five long years, the African Union kept Mali at arm&#8217;s length. Following a second shift in the transitional government, the AU officially suspended Mali from all its activities, organs, and institutions on June 1, 2021.
