Restaurant Review
Jozi Gin has a homey trendy decor and a pleasant atmosphere. I’ve been here twice; the first time for dinner which wasn’t the best of experiences and then for late afternoon drinks for a business meeting. Jozi Gin has a welcoming restaurant with a separate smoking bar. This is one thing I appreciate about the place as they separate us from smokers. The Bar offers a great gin selection for all gin lovers.
It has a really great balcony view where you can take Instagram-worthy pictures. Even though the bar is just next to the restaurant, the noise is not really that high or disturbing.
Jozi Gin Menu
The dish I tried was really horrible, Food was just a letdown. You can order nicely cooked steak, ribs, and chicken.
Cuisine: Grill, Steakhouse & Vegetarian options.
Taste: The food didn’t deliver on taste, I couldn’t even eat it halfway through.
Portion sizes: The sizes were just perfect size, not too small.
Presentation: I’m definitely impressed at how they took their time with presenting all of the dishes.
Creativity: Creativity was on point, and picture-perfect dishes.

Jozi Gin Service
Staff: The wait staff were not attentive and struggled to get assisted and kept changing waiters.
Speed: From ordering to the table, the food took 30-40 minutes. Service was prolonged.
Jozi Gin Summary
Food rating: 1.5/5
Service rating: 1.5/5
Price: ZAR 180 on average per person
Likes: I love the decor and homey feel of the place. The music was also really great and you could still have proper conversations. The second time I just went for drinks which were good, drinks did take a long but didn’t expect anything less from them. I would recommend this place for business drinks only. Don’t attempt to go eat there.
Dislikes: I really didn’t like their service. The wait staff was so unattentive. I had ordered a strawberry daiquiri mocktail and it took over 30 minutes to arrive it was a cocktail instead which so correct the error took another 30 minutes. Waiters kept changing and I didn’t even know who was assisting me in the end. To even make the experience worse the food was a letdown. Everything was just all over the place.
